BHR TIP LAI and FAPAR Product

The QA4ECV BHR TIP LAI/FAPAR product contains effective LAI (Leaf Area Index) and FAPAR (Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation) derived with the TIP (Two-stream Inversion Package) retrieval method from white-sky albedos (BHR) in the visible and near-infrared broadband. TIP delivers a Gaussian approximation of the probability density functions (PDFs) of the retrieved model parameters of a 1D canopy model which characterise the radiative status of the vegetation-soil system. The method aims at consistency with large-scale climate and Earth system models and does not require assumptions about other factors (e.g. biome type) to be made. fAPAR and effective LAI are retrieved simultaneously and are consistent to each other in the sense of the model assumptions.
The following products are available:
(1) a DAILY global product at 0.5 degrees derived from AVHRR and geostationary instruments from 1982-2016;
(2) a DAILY global product at 0.05 degrees derived from AVHRR and geostationary instruments from 1982-2016;
